My dedication to public service is also reflected in my involvement with:

  • Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc.

Education

I’m a proud graduate of University Laboratory School and earned my B.S. in Social Work from Southern University and A&M College.  Education shaped who I am today, and I will always be an advocate for improving schools and expanding opportunities for students.

Above all,

I am a husband to Dr. Kendra Michael-Selders and a proud father to Larry Jr. (11) and Luke (9). My family is my motivation, and I want every Louisiana family to have the same opportunities to succeed.

My focus remains on expanding healthcare access, promoting economic development, and supporting working families. I am eager to collaborate with my colleagues to enact meaningful legislation that reflects the needs and aspirations of our district.

My commitment to public service is rooted in a deep understanding of our community’s challenges and a passion for real solutions.

Better Healthcare Access

Support proactive mental health care in schools through legislation that provides free screenings and early intervention to help students access support before crises arise.

As a Business Owner

I own Focused Family Services, a mental health clinic serving hundreds in the Capital Area. I’ve seen firsthand how poor mental health impacts families, and I’ve made it my mission to provide support and resources to those in need. As the Principal Partner of The Selders Development Group LLC, I am committed to ensuring access to quality, affordable housing for our residents.

Stronger Support for Working Families

Champions policies that uplift working families by advocating for fair wages, stronger public education, and expanded mental health services to build a more stable and supportive community.
